Spynal D Tab contains Cinnarizine 20 mg with Domperidone 15 mg and is used for vertigo of vestibular origin in which nausea and vomiting are a prominent part of the attack, including Meniere's disease, vestibular neuronitis and labyrinthitis with associated emesis.
Spynal D is a fixed-dose combination, and its cinnarizine content is 20 mg rather than the 25 mg used in the single-agent Spynal 25 Tab, with Domperidone 15 mg added to control vomiting. The two brands are therefore not equivalent tablet for tablet, and the choice between them is made by the prescriber on the symptom pattern.
It is avoided in people sensitive to cinnarizine or domperidone, in prolactinoma, in gastrointestinal bleeding, obstruction or perforation, in moderate to severe liver impairment, in Parkinson's disease, and where there is QT-interval prolongation, an electrolyte disturbance or cardiac disease, or treatment with QT-prolonging medicines. Your physician will check these before prescribing.
