Ondimist Drops is an oral ondansetron preparation used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting caused by cytotoxic chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and after surgery. The liquid form suits patients who cannot take a tablet. Use it only as directed by your physician.
Both contain ondansetron, but the drops are taken by mouth using the supplied dropper, while the injection is given parenterally by a healthcare professional. Drops are used when the oral route works; the injection is chosen when a patient is already vomiting or is nil by mouth.
The effects reported most often with ondansetron are headache, constipation and a sensation of warmth or flushing. Hiccups and transient changes in liver enzymes can also occur. Tell your doctor about any rash, fainting or irregular heartbeat.
