Serimist-DPS is prescribed for acute inflammatory pain accompanied by swelling u2014 dental pain and post-extraction oedema, fresh sprains and contusions, acute sinusitis, post-operative sites and flares of soft-tissue rheumatism. It contains diclofenac potassium 50 mg, paracetamol 325 mg and serratiopeptidase 15 mg.
DPS is shorthand for the three components of the tablet: Diclofenac potassium, Paracetamol and Serratiopeptidase. It is a naming convention rather than a strength designation u2014 the strengths are 50 mg, 325 mg and 15 mg respectively.
The enzyme and paracetamol content is comparable, but the NSAID differs. Serimist-DPS uses diclofenac potassium 50 mg, the rapidly absorbed salt favoured for acute short-course pain, whereas aceclofenac-based tablets such as Aceclomist-SP Forte are more often used for ongoing arthritic and chronic musculoskeletal pain.
