Rx Pain & InflammationIndications
- Fever from any cause, including viral fever and fever after vaccination
- Headache, including tension-type headache
- Toothache, earache and sore throat pain
- Body ache, backache, period pain and other mild to moderate pain
- Patients in whom NSAIDs are unsuitable and a smaller unit strength is preferred
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to paracetamol
- Severe liver disease, active alcoholic liver disease or significant hepatic impairment
- Concurrent use of any other paracetamol-containing medicine, including cold, flu and combination pain products
- Chronic alcohol use, malnutrition or prolonged fasting without medical supervision
Side effects
- Generally well tolerated at prescribed amounts
- Nausea or stomach discomfort in some patients
- Skin rash, itching or other hypersensitivity reactions, which are uncommon
- Liver injury following excessive intake or accidental duplication; seek medical attention immediately if too much has been taken, even if you feel well

What is Parimist 500 tablet used for?
It is a plain paracetamol tablet used to bring down fever and to relieve mild to moderate pain such as headache, toothache, earache, backache and period pain. It has no anti-inflammatory action, so inflamed joints usually need a different medicine.
What is the difference between Parimist 500 and Parimist 650?
Only the amount of paracetamol in each tablet. Parimist 500 carries 500 mg and Parimist 650 carries 650 mg of the identical molecule. The smaller unit allows a more finely adjusted daily total, which suits older, lighter or hepatically compromised patients.
Can Parimist 500 be taken along with a cold and flu tablet?
Only after checking. Most cold and flu combinations already contain paracetamol, and the daily limit applies to every source added together. Show your doctor or pharmacist everything you are taking before adding a separate paracetamol tablet.
