Indications
- Acute musculoskeletal injury, sprains, strains and post-traumatic pain
- Renal colic and biliary colic
- Post-operative and post-procedural pain
- Flares of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis
- Acute pain where a lower-concentration parenteral NSAID presentation is preferred
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to diclofenac, benzyl alcohol, aspirin or any other NSAID, including aspirin-sensitive asthma
- Active or recurrent peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, or a bleeding or coagulation disorder
- Severe hepatic, renal or cardiac failure, and pain management around coronary artery bypass surgery
- Neonates and infants, because the formulation contains benzyl alcohol; third trimester of pregnancy
Side effects
- Injection-site pain, redness or induration
- Nausea, dyspepsia or abdominal discomfort
- Headache, dizziness or drowsiness
- Rash, itching or other hypersensitivity reactions
- Uncommonly, gastrointestinal bleeding, deranged liver or renal function, fluid retention or a rise in blood pressure

What is Diclomist 3 ml Injection used for?

Why is Diclomist 3 ml Injection 25 mg per ml and not 75 mg per ml?
It is the lower-concentration presentation of the same molecule. Twenty-five milligrams per millilitre across a 3 ml ampoule gives a more dilute solution and a larger working volume. The 75 mg per ml version is sold as Diclomist 1 ml Injection.
Can Diclomist 3 ml Injection be given at home?
No. It is a prescription (Rx) parenteral product intended for administration by a qualified healthcare professional in a clinical setting, as directed by the treating physician.
