Frequently asked questions

What is ELTEC 150 tablet used for?

ELTEC 150 contains Ranitidine Hydrochloride IP 150 mg and is prescribed in acid-related conditions of the stomach and oesophagus, including duodenal and benign gastric ulcer, reflux oesophagitis and hypersecretory states. It reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces. Take it only as directed by your physician.

Is ELTEC 150 the same as ranitidine?

ELTEC 150 is Allomedix Healthcare's brand of ranitidine. Ranitidine is the molecule; the tablet is formulated with its hydrochloride salt, declared on the label as Ranitidine Hydrochloride IP 150 mg. Your prescription may name either the brand or the molecule.

Can ELTEC 150 be bought without a prescription?

No. ELTEC 150 is a prescription medicine and should be taken only on a doctor's advice. Persistent indigestion or upper abdominal pain needs to be assessed rather than self-treated, because acid-suppressing therapy can mask symptoms that require investigation.
