Indications
- Primary dysmenorrhoea and menstrual cramping
- Mild to moderate musculoskeletal pain and headache
- Post-operative and post-traumatic pain relief
- Dental and peri-procedural analgesia
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Mefenamic Acid or other fenamates
- Inflammatory bowel disease, peptic ulceration, or severe renal impairment
- Pregnancy (third trimester) and neonates — prostaglandin inhibition risk
Side effects
- Diarrhoea (characteristic of fenamates — dose-related)
- Nausea, abdominal cramps, and dyspepsia
- Haemolytic anaemia with prolonged use (rare)
