Indications
- Acute dental pain, including pain after extraction
- Ear, nose and throat inflammation and associated pain
- Post-operative and post-traumatic pain and swelling
- Musculoskeletal and soft-tissue pain, sprains, strains and bursitis
- Dysmenorrhoea and other acute painful conditions accompanied by fever, in adults
Contraindications
- Children below twelve years of age; nimesulide is approved for adult use only in India
- Existing or previous liver disease, raised liver enzymes, alcohol dependence, or a previous hepatic reaction to nimesulide
- Active or recurrent peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, and known hypersensitivity to nimesulide, paracetamol, aspirin or other NSAIDs
- Severe renal impairment, severe heart failure, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and concurrent use of other potentially hepatotoxic medicines
Side effects
- Nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain or diarrhoea
- Rash, itching, sweating or other hypersensitivity reactions
- Dizziness, drowsiness or headache
- Elevated liver enzymes on testing
- Rarely, serious liver injury; stop the medicine and seek medical attention if jaundice, dark urine, persistent nausea or unusual tiredness develops

What is Nimumic Plus Tab used for?
It is prescribed to adults for short-term relief of acute pain and fever, such as dental pain, ear, nose and throat inflammation, post-operative or post-traumatic pain, musculoskeletal injury and dysmenorrhoea. A physician decides whether it is suitable for you.
Can children take Nimumic Plus Tab?
No. Nimesulide is approved in India for adults only and must not be given to children below twelve years of age. Ask your paediatrician for an age-appropriate alternative rather than adjusting an adult tablet.
Is Nimumic Plus Tab safe for the liver?
Nimesulide has been associated with liver injury, which is why Indian labelling restricts it to short-term use in adults. It should be avoided by anyone with liver disease or alcohol dependence, and any jaundice, dark urine or unusual tiredness during treatment should be reported to a doctor at once.
