- Fever in adults, including viral fever and fever where NSAIDs are being avoided
- Fever and soreness following vaccination
- Headache, body ache and musculoskeletal pain
- Post-operative, post-partum and post-dental pain of mild to moderate intensity
- Adults of average or higher body weight for whom a larger single unit is appropriate
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to paracetamol
- Severe hepatic impairment or active alcoholic liver disease
- Concurrent use of any other paracetamol-containing product, including cold, flu and combination analgesics
- Chronic alcohol use, malnutrition, dehydration or prolonged fasting without medical supervision
Side effects
- Usually well tolerated at prescribed amounts
- Nausea or abdominal discomfort in some patients
- Rash, itching or other hypersensitivity reactions, which are uncommon
- Rarely, blood disorders on prolonged use
- Liver damage after excessive intake; seek medical help at once if too much has been taken, since early symptoms can be absent

Why is paracetamol 650 mg preferred during dengue or viral fever?
