It is prescribed to adults for short-term relief of moderately severe acute pain, such as post-operative, post-dental-extraction or post-traumatic pain, often after a course of injectable ketorolac. It is not intended for minor aches or for long-standing pain.
Ketorolac carries a hard limit: the injectable and oral phases together must not run beyond five days. The restriction exists because the risk of gastrointestinal ulceration, bleeding and kidney injury rises steeply with continued use. Your physician sets the exact duration.
DT stands for dispersible tablet. It breaks up in water, which helps patients who cannot swallow a conventional tablet comfortably, such as after a dental extraction or in the early post-operative period. The active molecule and its restrictions are unchanged.
