Doxycycline 100 mg + Lactic Acid Bacillus 5 million spores
Rx Anti-infectivesIndications
- Acute gastroenteritis and traveller’s diarrhoea with mixed bacterial/protozoal aetiology
- Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) and gynaecological infections
- Amoebiasis, giardiasis, and trichomoniasis
- Intra-abdominal infections requiring combined aerobic–anaerobic coverage
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones or nitroimidazoles
- History of tendon disorders associated with quinolone use; epilepsy
- Pregnancy (especially first trimester) and breast-feeding — consult physician
Side effects
- Nausea, vomiting, and metallic taste (Ornidazole-related)
- Dizziness, headache, and photosensitivity (Ofloxacin-related)
- QT prolongation risk — caution with concurrent QT-prolonging drugs
