Indications
- Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis — sneezing, rhinorrhoea, nasal pruritus
- Chronic idiopathic urticaria and angioedema
- Allergic conjunctivitis with ocular itching and watering
- Pruritic skin conditions — atopic dermatitis, contact urticaria
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to Levocetirizine, Cetirizine, or hydroxyzine
- Severe renal impairment (CrCl < 10 mL/min)
- Caution in elderly patients and those operating heavy machinery — residual sedation possible
Side effects
- Somnolence and fatigue (less common than older antihistamines)
- Dry mouth and headache
- Urinary retention — use with caution in prostatic hypertrophy
